SmugMug > popular today > oh yeah!, let's see ya do this! 11/21/09 it was another grey rainy day but only a bit of wind. did have one standout weather event tho. we had one, and only one, lightning strike but it was right by my place and it was a doozey. i happened to be looking out the window and saw it actually ground as it struck just up the alley from my place. one of the most different i've ever seen, and i've seen quite a few. was a solid, straight, wide, vertical column which appeared at least two to three feet wide nad a couple hundred feet tall. the thunder reverberated loudly for over five seconds and quieter for a couple more. it was AWESOME! probably lucky it was a hundred feet away or i might've burned my retinas. had the flash in my eyes for long minutes after anyway. made the hairs on my arms and neck stand on end too. totally cool! guess you can tell i was jazzed ;-) . this isn't that great cuz of the low light but i liked the col,or and position so you're getting it for today. posting early and off to bed. have a greqat week-end all to see previous dailies click here: http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/Other/the-daily-picture/

It had been a while since I last was there and I have to say, there's a big difference, a big difference for all to see. The people are aggressive, anxious, hot, agitated, desperate and life now, is a lot harder, a lot harder than it used to be. View in X3 or even better O, to feel the grain
SmugMug > popular today > 11/21/09 - Pretty in Pink I took this shot yesterday in my yard...the fruit of my labors from about 10 years ago. This is a sasanqua camellia. Beautiful like a rose but no fragrance. They prefer part shade, and my yard has plenty of that, so there's always a neat mix of sun and shadows on the plants. Anyway, I was thinking pink, and pretty , and normal today. I hope you enjoy this burst of color especially where winter has set in more already this year. I can't believe it, it's 11/21 and we haven't had a frost at my house yet let alone a freeze. Wow! I should be able to download the SPCA Santa Paws pictures in 3 days give or take. She and I both got some nice, extra pics and the boys enjoyed their visit with Santa a lot. Christimas decorations seem to be up everywhere here, and the boys are asking and asking for us to start on ours. I think today is the day. HAGD, M

SmugMug > popular today > Looking Up At A Tree DailyPhoto 11-21-2009 I needed a Daily desperately, so I took a walk in the neighborhood looking for something a little different to shoot. It occurred to me that I had taken many pictures of trees here before but none from the inside out. So I walk beneath a large tree, aimed at its top, added some PP, and this was the result-Dan Patti was really taken back by so many nice comments yesterday about her deer shot. They were very much appreciated.
