Persian Gulf (June 2, 2005) - Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Laverne Newman assigned to the "Blue Diamonds" of Strike Fighter Squadron One Four Six (VFA-146) loads 20-millimeter rounds into a F/A 18C Hornet. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in order to set the conditions for security and stability in the region.
