Military keyword > tom > Orville "Tom" Browning, former B-24 Liberator ball turret and waist gunner, 389th Bombardment Group, Ploesti raid vet, Aug 1st, 1943. When the 389th arrived in England, their new B-24's were already equipped with ball turrets. Before the Ploesti mission, which was flown out of Benghazi, Libya, their ball turrets were removed because of the low level nature of the raid. Tom was put at a waist gun position for the Ploesti raid. Taken Aug 1st, 2007, Lincoln, Nebraska.
