Boy, did I learn a lot about cranberries and cranberry harvesting this week end. The even let me go up onto their big machine (kind of like a boom) to get photographs of the bog from up above. I'll put some up a little later. This machine is called a picker. It goes through the bog and gently beats on the cranberry plants to loosen the berries. In this photo, you can see them spraying up into the air with the water .
