You can add an unlimited number of JPEG, GIF, and PNG files to your SmugMug account. To store larger files and other file types?, you'll want to add a SmugVault.
The current size limitations on photos are:
- 12 megabytes for Standard and Power users
- 24 megabytes for Professional users
- 48 megapixels for all users
If a file exceeds those limits, we'll automagically resize it to bring it within the limits. The too-large original will be discarded unless you have a SmugVault.
Although we support PNG files, they have limited browser compatiblity so we recommend using them only for building your own themes (Power and Pro users) and custom watermarking (Pro). View PNGs and animated GIFs at the original size to see transparency and animation, respectively.
Gotcha: Only JPEGs can be ordered as prints & gifts.

Videos
For video clips, the limits are in length: 2.5 minutes for Power Users, 5 minutes in HD and 10 minutes in DVD quality for Pros. In no case can files be greater than 512 megabytes. More.
